Where Have All the Per Caps Gone?

Gone to contests, everyone…

SEIU is sponsoring a contest called “Since Sliced Bread.” They’re putting up $200,000 in prize money for the best idea for improving the lives of ordinary Americans. The author of the best idea, as determined by an illustrious panel of judges (including former senator Bill Bradley, the head of the IAF, various ex-Clintonites, and of course Andy Stern), will take home $100,000.

I can see where this is headed. The next step is a union-oriented reality TV show: union apprentice. The first task of the hopeful apprentices will to be organize Donald Trumps office workers.

Hello, Tobias. I would have to be a little more clear on the ground rules before participating.

    My first question would be:
“For the purposes of this contest, how does one define an ‘ordinary American’?”

    My second question would be:
“Will ideas that don’t involve massive bloodshed be taken seriously?”

    My final question would be:
“May I borrow from movies like ‘THX1138’?”

  4. Toby Higbie says:

I’m guessing no massive bloodshed allowed, but there’s nothing in the rule book against lifting from sci-fi movies.

Personally, I’m not a fan of armed rebellion. But I’m sure someone will send in a plan for that to the contest. Will they print it? Probably not.
